Note to self: When baking cookies from frozen cookie dough, it's enough to add just a minute to the usual baking time. Burnt cookies are so sad :(

And on the Corona impeachment, can't say I was surprised with the results, it is after all, a political exercise and these are politicians with dreams of reelection or who have plans of having their spouses replace them. Syempre, they have to accede to the will of the people, kind of like mob rule, but with surveys and motherhood statements.
Lastly, what's up with MDS? Grabe, there was so much back patting and self-love in that "explanation" that she even forgot to say what her vote was. And yes, I did partly wish that God would strike her dead right then and there. So much arrogance!

Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies
I had a lot of brown sugar left after making raisin bread pudding so I decided to make chocolate chip cookies. I googled "brown sugar chocolate chip cookies" and the very first hit was a recipe from Butter Cooking called Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies! Clearly, this was kismet:p

Raisin Bread Pudding
We bought about 7 or 8 loaves of raisin bread from Baguio Country Club, and of those 8, 3 were reserved for our consumption (yes, matakaw kami ni G). Two weeks later and we still had a loaf left, and it seemed such a waste to throw food away (even if I could already make knocking sounds on it), so I decided to try my hand at making bread pudding.
I basically followed this recipe, but did without the vanilla sauce.

More Quotes
Something I thought I would never, ever hear in my lifetime:
Tatay: Sinabihan ko yung mama mo: 'Day, tama na yang pagpapapayat mo. Ok, na yang katawan mo.
I was so surprised when my dad said this! After all these years of him nagging her to lose weight, he's now actually saying that she's too skinny! The world is about to end soon:p
On another note, I find myself channeling Madiva more and more these days when bantering with G, saying things such as:
- I'm so cute no?!
- Look! I'm crying! (while pointing at a pouty face)
- Sigh, he's so pogi, he's my crush.
Anyway, we're off to Sean Marco's baptism in a bit. I'm hoping we can sneak in a looksie at Dapitan Arcade after the reception because I want to buy a fruit stand or something as ridiculously domestic.

Ms. Moneybags
My dad wants to buy a car (Crosswind) for Agta and this is how last week's conversation went:
Tatay: I have a favor to ask, I'm raising money for the car downpayment and I want to borrow Php100,000.00 from you. (Note: Promise, nag-English siya)
Me: Php100,000.00?! Wala akong ganon, I can lend you (mentally calculating) Php40,000.00 now and maybe Php50,000.00 2 weeks from now.
Tatay: Php40,000 lang? Akala ko ba mayaman ka?
I guess I should be flattered that my own father thinks that I'm flush with cash, but really Papi, that's all I can spare for now. Just for you, I took out money from my no-touch emergency fund.
True love peeps.

Dreaming of Dressers
This is how our clothes are arranged at the moment. I hate how I don't have enough space for my tops, so I have to put some of them under the hung clothes. This usually means that there are two stacks of tops hidden at the back of the closet and the stacks in front are always in danger of toppling over.
There are still 10 million things to be done in our condo, but first and foremost on my list is a tall, white dresser, similar to this.
The top drawer should be my chest level and the bottom drawer will be for our laundry because G wants to put a chair inside the room for him to lounge in while watching TV, so that chair will go where our hamper is now.
The dresser will house the clothes currently stored in the wire cubes, as well as the shirts under the hung clothes. I'm hoping that all of my clothes, including the dresses stored in a plastic bin under our bed, will fit in the dresser and our current open closet. I weeded out my closet a few weeks ago and yielded a small bin's worth of clothes, but I guess I have to go at it again and be absolutely ruthless this time around, if my clothes are to fit in the closet and dresser.
It's a good thing that there are so many furniture makers here in the Dirty South and that our design is pretty basic and straightforward. We're getting our mid-year bonus next week so that takes care of funding for the dresser. I can't wait to have a more organized clothing storage system!
