We have finally reached a compromise as regards the paint for the living area (read: the non-bedroom part of the condo). Green is our hue of choice.

This shade of green is a bit too much though for my timid heart.

Maybe something like this.

That's Stokes Forest Green (check swatch on top).

Moving out updates:

-We finally picked our contractor and construction will begin after holy week, as there's still the issue of coming out with IDs for the workers and other administrative matters.
-Construction will take about 5 days and we will have a wall put up, paint the walls, have kitchen cabinets made and decide where to put up lights.
-We have extended our lease for a month and will probably move in the new place by the 3rd weekend of May.

G and I are still at odds over what color to paint the walls for the kitchen and living area. I want something light to act make the small space look bigger, while he wants different vibrant colors on the different walls. At first he wanted to make the whole condo look like a villain's lair, but I had to put my foot down at that point.

For now, we're going to go his way then if I really can't stand it, then we'll repaint the walls my way. And so on and so forth. It's a good thing paint is cheap.

On to family news, Keegan was baptized yesterday! Here's the cutie with his parents:IMG_3629

We thought he was going to scream bloody murder at this point, but Keegan actually loved getting his forehead splashed with water. True blue Agta baby right there!

G's meeting with two contractors today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't cost an arm and a leg to put up our dream wall.

Next time na ang bathroom with a shower area that actually makes sense, we just want a wall. Do you hear me Universe? I just want a wall.

Ktnxbye.

We finally saw my unit yesterday and it's essentially the same as the middle unit, except that the middle unit is square-ish while the unit on the left is rectangular. I pretty much anticipated how the unit will look like but I was dismayed when I saw the bathroom.

IMG_3384

While the middle unit's shower area is in the corner and the provision for the washing machine is between the toilet and the shower, the left unit has the shower in the middle and the washing machine area in the corner!

I admit that I became cranky(understatement of the year!) when G said that we can't move the shower area to the corner because that would entail creating another drain as well. But I can't imagine taking a shower and having the bathroom all wet EVERY SINGLE TIME. I'm the one who cleans the bathroom , I'm internally throwing a fit right at this very moment with the thought of cleaning up every time G and I take a shower.

I refuse to believe that that can't be fixed. Mejo idiotic naman if it's really supposed to be that way.

Anyway, moving on. The bed posts represent where the walls will intersect, giving us just enough room for the bedroom. I might even get the corner near the windows for my desk and product shots :)

The tiny kitchen. The issue here is where to put the small appliances. We still haven't worked that out.

So many things to do, foremost of which is to get in touch with the contractors and compare their quotes for the wall and bathroom.

The movers have confirmed their availability on April 23, so from now until then, here's what we have to do:

1. pay association dues
2. submit PLDT disconnection notice
3. submit Skycable disconnection notice
4. buy boxes from grocery
5. pack things
6. check out new space (doing so tomorrow!)
7. figure out layout
8. get in touch with accredited contractors and hope that quoted price is within our price range, otherwise, we'll have to make do with a divider/screen for now
9. apply for internet in the new place

Hmmm...that's all I can think of right now.

I've cleared the shelves and only G's stuff remain in them now (Ehem!).

I'm now torn whether or not to just let our deposit cover the floor repair, which is horribly scratched from our chairs, or get someone to fix it. Admittedly, I'm wary that our landlady will overcharge us for the floor repair. Sadly, I always work on the premise that people will always try to put one over you. But then the opposite happens when I get to know someone, then I become too trusting.

Can't wait to see the new space tomorrow! Hope we won't get too shocked with the space downgrade:p

I have always been a semi-believer in karmic retribution, but mostly just in the "Bah, you'll get what's coming to you soon" type of thinking. Then promptly dropped it and moved on.

Apparently karma does bite back and what a bite it has. Ayayay, buti nga sa iyo. Sa INYO. Bwahahahaha!

Advanced birthday dinner last Friday at Mona Lisa with Vic, Dang and G.

And tomorrow's the big day, whoopee!:p

I haven't really been excited over my birthday for the last couple of years, so I don't really expect this year to be any different.

I am looking forward though to tomorrow's pasta binging session with my friends and then dinner at Nuvali/Tagaytay with G. And we'll go to mass din pala tomorrow (Hi mom!).

Thus beginneth another year. Opa!

It's amazing how quickly time seems to pass these days. I'll be whining incessantly about Monday but with just one blink, here comes Friday.

Time's moving too fast if you ask me. I want to hold on to these precious days as much as I can and relish the thought and reality of just the two of us in our little pigeon house (as my mom calls it).

This time next month we'll be celebrating our first wedding anniversary, but I bet we'll be too busy with moving houses to even think about doing something special to mark that occasion.

I'll miss having the terrace door open at all times and the cool breeze that always makes its presence felt. I'll also miss the terrace which became the unwitting venue for a lot of my product shots for KE, including this death defying one on the ledge which had G on full alert in case my usual clumsiness reared its head.

Barring my daily commute at icky, stinky Buendia, it really doesn't get any better than this.
