Yesterday, G and I stopped by St. Jerome to check if the 4:30pm slot on May 1 was still available. And just our luck, there was an ongoing mass wedding so we stayed on to kibitz.

There was no more "giving away" of the bride to the groom as the couples already entered the church together. If they had a flower girl or ring bearer, the kids participated in the march, but there were no bridesmaids, maids of honor and all that jazz.

The couples were assigned to their respective pews.

It was very orderly and solemn and I nudged G to ask him: "Why didn't we think of that?"
Next we went to Sophia's to check out how they would deck out their courtyard at night. That's the owner wearing jeans.

Ok, so the place was not decked out at all and the umbrellas are hideous. But the courtyard has a lot of potential and the owners seem eager to accommodate all our ideas.

So far, we have agreed to remove the red Marlboro umbrellas and string lights across the courtyard. I'll probably kill myself for saying this, but my inspiration for the courtyard is the final scene in Twilight (which G insisted on watching last night) where Edward and Bella are dancing inside a gazebo. I want the courtyard to be that lit up with all sorts of twinkling lights and bulbs.
And we have to do something about the tables too. Must. Prettify.
The courtyard in nearby Ilustrado had a much formal set-up, definitely more suited for a wedding.

Now that I've more or less wrapped up the church and reception, my next obsession is table settings.

Today's plan is to move the wedding slot from 11am to 4:30pm, then call Mr. Merv to block off the courtyard for May 1.
Let's do this!
