Tonight I will rant.

Anyway, it's no longer a secret that G's undergoing medication for diabetes (we tried to keep it a secret but obviously it was a major fail after my mom greeted me one weekend with: Heto, painom mo kay Gary para sa diabetes niya) so he's been having some blood and urine as well as other tests, done.

The first time was at the Hi-Precision Center near Madox and 11 tests plus abdomen ultrasound amounted to Php2,655.

Today, he had his blood and urine tested again at Humana Wellness Center in Sta. Rosa and I was absolutely dumbfounded with how inflated their prices are!

What follows is a side by side comparison of the prices from Hi- Precision Center and Humana Wellness Center for the same tests. First figure is Hi-Precision, second figure is Humana.

Fasting Blood Sugar- 70p vs 200p
Lipid Profile- 370p vs. 810p
SGPT- 95p vs 265p
Routine Urinalysis- 65p vs. 90p
Calcium- 100p vs 265p

Hi Precision Total= 700p
Humana Wellness Center Total= 1630p

Difference= PHP930

TOTAL RIP-OFF!!!!

I guess that's the price of convenience right there.

So to all fellow Sta Rosa'ers reading this, avoid Human Wellness Center and save yourself a pretty bundle that you can then spend on eating out (to further increase your cholesterol level:p).

There's another clinic in the Walter Mart building, but I'm quite wary about that clinic because when I specifically asked about the price range of the tests, the receptionist couldn't give me a straight answer and guarded the same like it was the original Coke recipe. So G, looks like it's back to TM Kalaw for you next month. Sorry luv. Mwah!
