I was fixing Krissy's box and came across this coat:

Whoa! Eskimo much?!

It's amazing what the ukay can yield and what's more amazing is Dra. Gina's ukay searching powers:p

This black trench puffer coat is also cute. I think I'll borrow it if my Hongkong trip pushes through next week:)

So there Krissy, hindi ka na lalamigin sa New Zealand :)

To date, there are 4 puffer coats, 4 (or 5?) jackets, some with fleece lining, several thermal tops, leggings, a scarf and a hat.

Alright, so I may whine about my job every now and then but even I have to admit that the travel is a major perk (perhaps the only perk?:p).

Who would have thought I'd ever go to Laoag, until this week all I knew was that it was somewhere north and even farther than Baguio. Besides, if given a choice, why would I even go there?! Hindi nga.

So thank you Cebu Pacific for giving me the opportunity to experience a day in the life Laoag style. Next time, let's try Palawan shall we? And some regional assignments would also be nice ;)

I chose my hotel because of the polka dotted walls and its proximity to the Hall of Justice. But really mostly for the polka dotted walls.

I wanted to go to the Marcos museum but that was about an hour's ride away and I didn't have transpo and the jeeps seemed unreliable (hello! I waited for one hour for the jeep to leave for Fort Ilocandia! Di bale na lang.)

Never again to bagnet.

Ilocos empanada rawks! The one in Katipunan is a second rate trying hard copy cat to the original. Sa size pa lang taob na yung Katipunan version.

Bell tower.

One of my 5 or so pictures in Laoag. Note to self, bring a tripod next time.

The cake-like cathedral.

There's really not much to see or do in Laoag city (major event na yung Ilocos empanada for me:p) and you pretty much need your own transportation to get to the cool places like Pagudpud, windmills etc.

I really want to go to Pagudpud etc. and so I toyed with the idea of flying in to Laoag and then renting a car for the day, but the rental was around 4k++ for 8am to 5pm. That will be ok if you're a group of 5 and up but otherwise, ang mahal pa rin. So I guess Toyang will have to make the trek up north sometime soon.

I came from Danao today but was only there for a few hours and I was just inside the courtroom, so there was no time to explore and take pictures of the seaside town. It's such a shame because the next setting is still on April.

But for now, I'm happy that the next out of town hearing will still be in two weeks. I never thought it was possible but I'm actually getting tired of traveling:p

Pacman's victory over Cotto was marred by his alleged affair with Krista Ranillo.

Then Efren Penaflorida won CNN's hero of the year award, giving us all a respite from our incessant rumor mongering and an example of what we should all strive to be.

But kibitzing gave way to pure shock with the political killings in Maguindanao and this latest act of road rage from someone who should not have even been on the road in the first place.

What's going on? When did sanity leave the building?

Let's have more Efrens and less Jason Ivlers and Ampapatuans please :(

Krissy,

You may have been right in leaving.

Dear Krissy,

How are you adjusting there in Kiwiland?

We're all ok here, however, you may be interested to know that Mick brought home a pig from the school fair.

That's right, he won a pig in a game.

I don't know what we're gonna do with the pig but they have started calling her Teacher Ida. The initial plan was to call her Krissy but that might prove to be too confusing when you come back, since the both of you will be answering to the same name, so Maddie decided to call her Teacher Ida.

Maddie also asked if the pig can stay in my room because "you have no mow woommate" but I had to put my foot down and say no.

So that's what you've missed so far.

We miss you!

Love,
Ate Jill

P.S.
I wanted to call the pig Piggy but was reminded that one of the rabbits was already named Piggy. So why not call her Bunny instead? Bunny the pig and Piggy the bunny. Right?!
It's almost 2am and I'm still wide awake. I think it was all the iced tea I had at Aggie's house for dinner.

Now that I no longer have a roommate, I won't be watching any scary movies anymore because those movies only heighten my fear of ghosts and monsters lurking in the shadows just waiting to get me right when I hit REM...

Of course, zombie movies are not included in my banned list. Zombies never lurk so you always get sufficient notice when there's one in the immediate vicinity.

Yes, we've been looking at appliances and home furnishing.

No, we don't have a date set yet.

But it's fun to dream of a life together :)

Things we've discovered about each other:

1) I like my rice soft and two steps away from being mushy, he likes his al dente and "hiwa-hiwalay"
2) When we look at home stuff, I gravitate towards the bedroom and bathroom sections, while he favors kitchen stuff.
3) He cooks, I do the dishes.
4) We both agree that sending clothes out to the cleaners is more efficient and time-saving than doing it ourselves.

At any rate, I'm more excited about coming home to a warm meal, instead of my usual delata delights, than the actual wedding itself.
