I'm sorry to be really shallow but I'm honestly upset that there's no new Glee episode!!

I've been spending the past few Fridays watching the latest Glee episode and I thought this Friday was going to be the same. Sadly, it's not.

Ang tagal pa po ng November 11 :(

Anyway, things were extra interesting at work today. I attended a meeting where my marching orders were to put on my fiercest face. So grrrrr.....

By the way, there's an ongoing Piso Fare promo until November 2. I'm not really excited about it though, because I have a feeling that I'll be doing a lot of traveling in the next few months. And that I'll be able to go to all the places in my mental wishlist (kahit hanggang airport and hotel lang). So you hear that Universe? Go and make it happen.

I decided to reclaim my life and give myself more breathing room by reducing KE's posts from 5x per week, to 3x a week and maybe a PR on the weekend.

This was the first week of my "Let's give Jill a break" project and tonight I was able to take Killer out for a walk and even go for a brisk walk afterwards. Yay :)

I also feel more like blogging now, but I think this was mostly fueled by my new book "Provenciana" by Apol Lejano-Massebieau. Reading it made me realize how much I missed blogging per se. So it's back to inanities for Sabitski Point.

A lot of things need to be said right now, but let us just focus on the most important: Was it really necessary to squish the other three people on the left side of the billboard just so that we can see the guy on the right's nipple?

Wrong, so wrong.

AND before this billboard went up, there was another one with Sitti the bossa nova singer, also for Calayan. I'm not a fan but even I admit that she is way prettier than she was on that billboard. Her face looked squashed and Ms. Piggy-ish on it, definitely not her best angle.

Paging Doctors Calayan! Maybe it's time to get a new advertising agency.

Aside from the scheduled hearing, my must-do in Cagayan de Oro was to take a picture of this:

A street sign with my lola's name on it. And no, her name is not Blvd.

Vamenta was actually my great-grandfather's adopted name. As a Chinese immigrant, he had to adopt a Filipino name and he chose, or was permitted to use, Vamenta.

I guess the Vamentas must be some important family to have a boulevard named after them in Cagayan de Oro. Of course I'd like to align myself with such an esteemed lineage, but as it is, I sadly sprung from the second rate, trying hard, copy cat side of the (feeling) family.

This song always gets me.

Moreso when I remember the scene when Carrie locked all the doors using her telekinetic abilities and killed everyone inside the gym. Huhuhuhuhu.

But seriously, pig's blood notwithstanding, it's such a haunting song.

I've always been curious about that hotel strip right in front of Terminal 3. I thought they looked nice the first time I saw them, but nice doesn't quite cut it anymore when you're actually walking in front of them. The transition from the dark and ghetto Old Domestic Road to the modern and spiffy Terminal 3 (ahem) has always been jarring, and now the hotel strip has made the difference even more pronounced.

I felt like I was back in Macau and that at any moment, the Wynn would have their fantastic lights and sounds show (hopefully the one with the fire stunt).

We had the buffet dinner in Resorts World and the hotel name is such a misnomer because it sure ain't no resort. It ought to have been called Casino World.

I don't gamble but if I was pressed for money and felt the need for entertainment, I'd definitely hie off to a casino and just watch the performers (while mooching off the free coffee and water being freely passed around, I'm not sure though if they had that in Resorts World). There were showgirls, interpretative dancers, bands etc. But still, nothing beats a light and sounds show, moreso when there are jets of fire spewing forth every now and then.

It's been a month and:

1) I have gotten used to our cold office. I was always freezing during my first few days at work, so much so that I even brought out my winter stash to use in the office:p But now, I think my body has adjusted to the cold and I also make full use of the vendo machine and order a hot drink to warm me up.

2) I'm still not used to the rush hour traffic in going home. Of course, my one-hour drive (45 minutes if I'm lucky) along Sucat is nothing compared to the SLEX hell that a lot go through every single night, but it's still a huge change from my past 10 minute commute. Talk about spoiled:p

3) I have laid claim to the Robinson's Bank ATM in ATC and will not try my luck with the ATM inside the compound. I only use it now to check my ATM card's balance, but sometimes it can't even do that.

4) Cebu is now synonymous with Makati when it comes to convenience. In fact, I've spent so much time in Cebu (particularly Ayala Cebu) these past few weeks that I do my toiletries shopping there.

5) The mineral water in Robinson's Midtown in Fuente is NOT free. I learned that the hard way when I was billed Php75 for a 500ml bottle of water. Ouch.

Or maybe it's just not free for other JG Summit employees, after all, we do get a discount when we check-in for the night.

6) Work is work and I can now detach myself from it the moment I go home. Yay!

Saturday is for sleeping in and washing clothes!!

Really, I'm excited over both :)

I actually enjoy washing my handwash only clothes (the rest get shipped off to the cleaners), I guess I still associate it with "helping out" my lola back in Ipil where she'd give me my own chair and we'd wash clothes inside the clanging plangana.

I also like the feeling of a job well done when I see all my clothes hanging from the clothesline, all squeaky clean and ready to be worn again, after they dry out of course. I think it also helps that I only wash my clothes when the laundry bag gets full, so that's about once a month. I have a feeling if I had to do it every weekend, I'd be griping instead of reminiscing:p

Happy weekend everyone!

Maddie: I saw him on TV! He was dancing to: "All the single leh, all the single leh..."

****

Maddie: Pretend that's a TV and I'm watching Babama (Obama) and he's funny tee-hee-hee.

I've been cursing a lot lately. From my usual: "Shit", "Shet", "Pakshet" and "Tang*na", my cussing dictionary now includes the more shala "Punyeta".

I attribute this development to my nightly drive home and the @#%^$*&^$#@ jeepney, taxi and truck drivers I encounter along MIA and Sucat Road.

Will try to curb my potty mouth though, no use stressing over those @#$%^&*() drivers.

For those who asked, Kuya G and G are different people. Kuya G is the messenger in my past law firm and we were all worried sick about him last weekend because he lives in Marikina and nobody knew what happened to him from Saturday to Tuesday. Thankfully, he called the office on Tuesday.

Ate Norma: Hello, SMS Law Offices, good morning.
Kuya Gilbert: Hi Ate Norma, si Gilbert to.
Ate Norma: Papa G!!!! Kamusta ka na?!?!
Kuya Gilbert: Heto, binaha ang bahay namin, pero ok lang naman pamilya ko.
Ate Norma: Naku! Buti na lang ok kayong lahat!! Oo nga pala, na-file mo ba yung ______ Rejoinder?
Kuya Gilbert: Oo, na-file ko nung Friday.
Ate Norma: May received copy ka ba?
Kuya Gilbert: Wala na Ate Norma, di ko na alam kung saan ang bag ko.

You just gotta love Ate Norma:p
