Defendant's counsel failed to appear for two consecutive hearings.

To prevent another no-show at future hearings, the judge instructed the clerk to schedule the next hearings together with those of the absent counsel's favorite case, the very same case whose hearings he never skips out on (read: paying client).

Simple but brilliant :)

Let us all say a quiet prayer for the untimely demise of my office PC's hard drive.

Said hard drive sputtered into nothingness a few days ago and despite the valiant efforts of Dick the computer repair guy, the hard drive's contents are sadly unsalvageable.

At this point, I would like to thank our different clients and my boss who insisted on receiving various pleadings by email. In that way I still have copies of several pleadings.

I would also like to thank G who told me: "Kasi dapat nag google documents ka" moments after I told him about my hard drive's predicament.

Thank you too to Vic for filing a month-long leave because of a delicate pregnancy. Somehow, a dead and useless hard drive seems inconsequential when compared with the prospect of losing a baby.

And her month-long leave means that my workload just doubled so now is not the time to mourn my dead hard drive.

Finally, I would like to thank Tam for moving on to another firm. His departure means that I now have free reign over his freezing cold cubicle.

The moral of this story is to back up your important files.

It rained a bit that afternoon but the tour went on.

I think I have slight dyslexia when it comes to places.

I always interchange Pasig with Pasay (and vice versa), while Pampanga and Pangasinan are like tomatos and tomatoes to me, same difference.

Maybe it's because I couldn't care less about those places?

It used to be the same with Imus, Bacoor and Dasmarinas. They were all just plain old Cavite. But now I know them individually because, well, I have to:P

That's also probably the reason why I don't interchange Certiorari under Rule 45 with Certiorari under Rule 65. Baka mabato pa ako ng Rules of Court ng boss ko if I do.

Now my dyslexia reared its ugly head again because I told everyone to go to Quiapo Church for this afternoon's tour even if the meeting was really in Binondo Church.

Hmmm....I think this time around I really was just confused, I honestly thought Quiapo church was Binondo church, seeing that they're both in the seedy, ugly and stinky part of Manila. (I hope Carlos Celdran doesn't read this)

So why am I going on a tour of Binondo again?

Because there will be food involved of course!

Just came back from a Cavite morning tour.

First, PI at the Bacoor Fiscal's Office at 10am and then a meeting with a client in Imus Cavite after lunch.

So far, I've gone to the following places because of work:

a) Imus
b) Bacoor
c) Dasmarinas
d) Molino
e) Carmona
f) General Mariano Alvarez
g) Southwoods
h) Tagaytay

Kulang na lang ng anting-anting at Cavitena na ako.

A-tapang a-tao.

About 175 days more to go.

Uy! Friday na pala!

I didn't notice the week zip by.

But it's all good because soon enough it will be December and you know what December means...Christmas! Among other happy events ;)

A good friend told me yesterday that she'll be coming back to the Philippines this month so I'm really excited about that :)

Today has the makings of a busy day but the weekend still seems ripe for "slothing". Can't wait :)
